WALK TO OLD BRIDGE

This walk takes you to the Roman (?) bridge crossing the river on the mule-track to Perinaldo in the bottom of the wooded river valley that forms the spectacular view looking south from the windows of the house.

The old mule-track bridge photo'd from the house

The walk starts from the town Farmacia on the 'main' road, a couple of hundred metres downhill from the Tarrochi Bar. Immediately opposite the Farmacia (usual green cross sign) there is a gap in the wall separating the road from the steep slope down to the river. Go through that gap and you're on your way. The path is nicely graded. The slide show on the right shows the route in pictures.

At the time these photos were taken there was some road construction at the start of the path to enable access to the town football pitch -- it doesn't extend very far. Near the end of the walk, when almost at the bridge, you pass the interesting ruins of an old watermill, with some of the machinery remaining. The view of Apricale from the bridge is impressive.
